About Lisa Sinclair

Photo 1Lisa is a professional web designer, with skills in CSS and HTML which she uses to great effect with the Wordpress Content Management System to create great sites, and is proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop, MS Office and other applications for Mac and PC.

Her skills in Copywriting have been put to great use with ongoing work for a current client, PowerHouse homes, and past clients (see them on the Copywriting page)

Lisa also has experience in Copyediting, most notably on three issues of an Australian niche magazine, and also acted as editor, writer and copy editor of her own street magazine during 2004 and 2005.

She’s been working for her own company, Tall Poppy Digital, with help from graphic designer Dominique Rada, and programmers Monika Hocks and Daniel Parnell now for nearly two years, and loving every minute. Except the annoying bits that involve Internet Explorer 6. She can most-often be found behind her white MacBook computer working on client websites and copywriting, surrounded by empty teacups.

But it didn’t start there…

Lisa worked in the Technical Writing sphere for around 10 years prior to starting Tall Poppy Digital and as a result knows the ins and outs of writing instructions to help people work with various types of software, the most recent being the BlogThing help system. She’s worked and created brochures and posters for a number of clients including Melody Street and The Fruit Pedallers to name but two, even creating the invitations for a friends wedding back in 2004.

You can download examples of her technical writing work, in the form of the Tall Poppy Quick Start guides from the Free Downloads page.

Lisa has used a variety of software to create print materials, including Apple’s Pages, Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop and Quark Express. She’s also created online help and user guides using Smultron, TWiki and MediaWiki, Adobe Robohelp and Adobe Framemaker, right down to Microsoft Word.

Past roles include a 9 month stint at Telstra during 2007 for the Transformation Project, 3 months at Sensis in 2006 for the disaster recovery project, and shorter-term contracts at DST International in 2006 and at MYOB in 2005.

She worked at Quest Software, as Systems Tester and then Technical Writer on various projects from 1999 to 2004 and before that for several other companies which are, sadly, no-longer with us.
