Google Analyticator –stats and all

Google Analytics (as discussed in this post a few days ago) is an astonishingly useful free tool for measuring your site visitor stats (where, when, how. etc) all with pretty graphs.

Google Analyticator by Spiral Web Consulting links your wordpress site directly to Google Analytics without having to go into the back-end code and add the google tracking code yourself (which for the less technical of us,is a bit on the risky-side!).

Before you start

All you need to begin with is a Google Analytics account, which you can get here.

Then, add your site address (including the “http://”) and click through the prompts.

Installing

Now return to your WordPress site and install Google Analyticator by clicking Plugins, and Add New. Search on Google Analyticator and install the plugin.

The more technically minded can download a copy from the WordPress plugins page.

Configuring

Once it’s installed,go to the Settings panel on the left and click Google Analytics.

Google Analytics logging is: The first thing to do is Enable the tracking.

Authenticate with Google:The second to Authorise Google Analyticator with your Google Analytics account.

Google Analytics Account:The third is to select the site that you’re tracking from the drop-down list.

For most people, you won’t have to worry about any of the other settings,so scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
