This week for Tall Poppy Digital

Busy as usual. I should have that tatooed across my forehead!

This week has been more about settling in with the new site, and I’ve got quite a few things working, including Twitter and Facebook (who are now on speaking terms! I’ll write some instructions on this soon, promise!), Google Feedburner, a RSS reader (Really Simple Syndication) that adds a whole lot of functionality.

The site is looking a little more svelte too, now I’ve removed the two green sidebars. They were a good idea at the time, but didn’t work really. There’s a neat Twitter follow badge in the sidebar too.

Finally, some rewrites have taken place on the content. Looking at what I imported from the old site, I realised that the copywriting was a bit on the negative side. Dare I say “Preachy”. Not really what we’re about at Tall Poppy. It’s a happy huggy place here. All right, we’re friendly and nice to people, which is — I believe — more likely to make people happy and leave with a good feeling. The web can be a friendly place. Really!

Also this week, I’ve had some calls from new clients, which is awesome! Keep an eye for them on the clients page in the next few weeks! And I’m looking at finishing up a print job I have with the local organic fruit and veg store, Fruit Pedallers. They needed an A2 size poster for the front window, some business cards and a tri-fold flyer for their clinic upstairs. If you’re ever in the Northcote/Westgarth area, do drop in and get a massage and some brilliant organic food!

And thanks must go to the patience of my Twitter followers: I have transferred over to another Twitter name as it had some issues. Now everything works tickety-boo.

Have a brilliant week everyone!
